The Mozambique Channel is an arm of the Indian Ocean that runs between Madagascar and Mozambique in Southeast Africa. The channel is approximately 1,600 kilometers long, 419 kilometers wide at its narrowest point, and reaches a depth of 3,292 meters. The Mozambique Current travels southward in the channel, eventually merging with the Agulhas Current off the east coast of Southern Africa.
