The Bajuni Islands are a group of islands in southern Somalia. They are located in the Somali Sea on Jubaland’s southern coast, from Kismayo to Ras Kiyamboni (not to be confused with Ras Kamboni). Administratively, the islands are part of Somalia’s Lower Jubba region. The principal islands are Chandra, Chivay, Chula, Koyama, Darakasi, and Ngumi. The only island with a considerable population is Chula, which includes the village of Ndowa. Today, the islands are primarily populated by the Bajuni people.
